Sinopsis: Close to the holy River Ganga, an ancient tree provides shelter and comfort to Uma, a mute, orphan, Brahmin girl. Treated like a drudge by her cruel aunt, Uma is also cursed by a horoscope that portends widowhood.

Comentarios: La película es muy buena, tal vez no alcace las alturas de 36 Chowringhee Lane o Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, pero desde luego merece la pena. Haría una buena sesión doble con Pather Panchali o Sedotta e Abbandonata, de Germi.
El ripeo lo conseguí en BanglaTorrents y no es mío. Gracias al ripper original. Tiene muy poca calidad: marca de agua de BanglaTorrents, mancha de la tv de emisión y subtítulos en inglés incrustados. De todas maneras es lo que hay (o lo que yo he podido encontrar).
